Dear readers and friends,
This letter is going out early because I will be taking a break to be with family.
This month marks one year of starting this newsletter. This space has created room for me to try something new. Thank YOU for letting me into your inboxes when your time is precious. I appreciate you.
Today I am sharing 5 posts that you have read the most along with a life lesson for each that I personally hope to take with me well into 2024. Maybe it will resonate with you too.
You don’t have to start over. I have a habit of starting over on projects for various reasons like perfectionism, self-doubt, etc. It takes courage to not start over. Your mess, literally taking it one step at a time, the detours and unexpected turns, it all belongs.
We all have FOMO and you can use it for your own good. There is room for all of us.
Family friendships are inevitably complicated because of the deep rooted history that is there. Knowing that the history goes before your generation will help you to approach it with grace. And, it’s okay to stay as family and not as friends. It’s really okay. This post about friendships truths was also a favorite.
Even good things need a break. We evaluate when things aren’t going well, but rarely when things are going well. But, this too is important because our circumstances change, seasons change, and chances are there might be something better that needs our attention more. Trading good for the good that fits this season.
Your grief wants you to be happy. It’s life-giving to create space for both, sorrow and joy. Both belong. Pay attention to when one is wanting more space than the other and let it be, without judgement.
In 2024, newsletters will be short and sweet in bite sizes and hopefully something good you can carry with you through the week. It will mostly be on personal growth with sometimes notes on living the everyday life.
I will be making a shift in my one-on-one coaching in 2024 to work with aspiring writers who are looking for support in their writing life- whether to help create a writing ritual/schedule, just getting started, or you want to write a book, etc think about getting in touch with me or spread the world.
That is all the news for now.
This is the closest we got to a family holiday photo- a random selfie, but a festive background. With helping family members out and other responsibilities, we probably won’t get around to holiday cards- again this year. Anyone else?
Whatever you don’t get done for the holidays, people who know you will love you still.
Sending you peace and hope. See you in 2024!
love,
kyunghee
